Reaching Out-of-School Children Phase II (ROSC-II)
The ROSC-II Project was a landmark national educational initiative operated between 2013 and 2022 to provide quality primary education to out-of-school children in Bangladesh's poorest and most vulnerable rural and urban communities.
Jointly implemented by the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) and financed by the World Bank (IDA), ROSC-II established over 20,400 community-managed Ananda Schools across 148 disadvantaged upazilas, bringing back over 690,000 out-of-school children into formal education.
Phase Concluded & Transformed into ROSC-III
ROSC-II concluded in 2022. Building upon its immense success, the initiative was officially expanded and relaunched in 2026 under the ROSC-III Project.
